Witch and Mercenary #5 & Kunon the Sorcerer Can See #5

The translation quality seems to be slipping in the fifth Majo to Youhei novel, with somewhat disjointed conversations and occasional difficulty in determining who should be speaking (although the latter’s probably the author’s fault). The plot developments are rather abrupt as well while the book as a whole doesn’t really feel like a part of a greater whole. It’s not bad enough to get me to drop it, but it does seem like a red flag for future novels.

The fifth Majutsushi Kunon wa Mieteiru novel meanwhile just comes across as sidestory filler; the events here could have been summarized in a paragraph and nothing of value would’ve been lost. The humor is still amusing at least, but if the next novel isn’t both over 200 pages and focused on some kind of significant development I’m going to have to drop it here.
