Having lost her parents in accident all Karin Hanazono has to remember them by is a ring her mother left her, a ring which starts to glow with a strange power after meeting Kazune Kujou and his cousin Himeka. From them she learns it holds the power of a goddess, unlocked under specific circumstances, and that there are others out there who wish to claim its power for their own.

A school life comedy with occasional bursts of action, bits of romance, and a few dramatic aspects.

Tokyo Mew Mew

Following a sudden earthquake-triggered dream of her meeting a Red Data wildcat, Ichigo Momomiya has begun acting more and more like a cat herself. Returning to the site of the incident to investigate she discovers that she’s been chosen to battle against a group of hostile alien lifeforms as the planetary defender Mew Strawberry, and that there are four other Mew warriors out there for her to find.

A mostly episodic magical girl action-comedy with re-occurring romance elements and occasional spots of drama.

Babylon no Ougon Densetsu: Lupin Sansei

Lupin and the gang face off against a group of New York gangsters as both compete to determine the location of lost Babylonian treasure. Meanwhile, Zenigata is forced to judge a ‘Miss ICPO‘ beauty contest.

An action-comedy in the same style as much of the third Lupin TV series. Though a stand-alone story, familiarity with the characters is recommended.

Founded by a former gangster and a yazuka boss’ estranged daughter the R&R detective agency isn’t particularly well loved among Kirin Town’s local criminal element, so the violent response they receive after accidentally stumbling upon a weapons trafficking scheme is unsurprising. What is surprising is that the encounter that should’ve led to their deaths instead results in the two sharing the same body, a body which swaps appearance and control between them at the stroke of midnight. Why were their bodies combined? And just who is the mysterious woman who’s taken an interest in them?

An investigative-themed action comedy with minor mystery and ecchi aspects.

Jiyuu herself is less enthused by the idea and only reluctantly takes up the mantle following the sudden appearance of rival clan members intent on getting revenge for a past defeat.

A CGI police-themed action thriller with minor comic relief elements. It’s part of a different continuity than the previous two Dominion OVA series.

In a place as violent and crime-ridden as New Port City a normal police force just doesn’t cut it. For that reason the city has created a special tank-based task force to stand up against the toughest criminals… while causing untold amounts of collateral damage in the process.

A conspiracy-themed, police-focused action series with a large amount of comic relief. Technically a sequel to Dominion, effectively it’s a stand-alone work.

DOMINION

With crime raging out of control the city of New Port decided the best course of action was to create a new police unit outfitted with military-grade weaponry. Come to be known as the Tank Police, the unit initially had remarkable success at reducing crime while keeping collateral damage to a relative minimum… until that fateful day when the reckless Leona Ozaki was transferred in from the force’s patrol division.

A police-themed cyberpunk action-comedy with a moderate level of ecchi and minor romance elements in the first half. The second half however trades most of the ecchi for drama.

Adrift at sea a lone man eventually washes up upon an abandoned shore lined by dense forest. Pushing his way through to the top of a small mountain, he discovers himself stranded upon an island.

A survival drama with no dialog and a bit of mystery which transforms into a romance partway through.

Often mistaken for a gal due to her tanned skin and light hair, Momo Adachi frequently has to fend off assumptions about her character. Making matters worse is that the scheming and more classically beautiful Sae Kashiwagi seems dead-set on outshining her in every way. Particularly where boys are concerned. So it comes as a shock when Sae’s attempt to steal the attention of Kairi Okayasu, whom Momo feigns interest in, backfires spectacularly: Kairi has in fact been long interested in Momo. But will Momo ever return his feelings when she’s in fact interested in someone else entirely?

A school life romantic comedy with a large amount of relationship drama.
