Not far in the future the rules of baseball are overhauled to allow for the inclusion of robotic team members. Not all teams can afford such an expenditure however, and Shunpei Harumaki plays for one such low-ranked team. Their luck changes when, forced by unexpected circumstances to find an additional player at any cost, Shunpei manages to pick up a second-hand maid robot with a certain hidden function….

A sports comedy with a small bit of drama toward the end.

  • THE REFLECTION

Posted on November 20, 2017 2:29 pm by Offkorn Comment

Three years after a mysterious global event dubbed ‘The Reflection’, people with strange appearances and powers begin to appear one after another. Some of them wish to use their abilities for personal gain, some to enact sweeping change upon the world, and some to enforce the status quo. Their only commonality being that normal humans cannot stand against them.

A superhero/villain-themed action-drama with a visual style very similar to Flash animation.

  • Aquarion Logos

Posted on November 12, 2017 11:25 am by Offkorn Comment

In a world where text-based communication has begun to dominate discourse, a virus has appeared that causes certain Kanji to run amok. To counter this threat the DEAVA organization has gathered up people with Verbalism abilities to pilot special mecha called Aquarions.

An action series with a large comedic streak and minor romance elements which becomes more of a multi-genre series in the second half. While the OVA that precedes the first episode is a crossover between Aquarion and Evol, the series proper has no connection to those shows beyond a few setting details.

  • Aquarion Evol

Posted on November 12, 2017 6:12 am by Offkorn Comment

Far in the future a mysterious disease eliminates the planet Altair’s female population. Not wanting their race to go extinct they decide to abduct women from the planet Vega, which responds by forming a gender-segregated defense force to repel the increasingly brazen attacks. However, only by coming together can the pilots harness the true power of the Aquaria mecha.

A relationship focused action series that’s set thousands of years after the events of Sousei no Aquarion. The connection between the two is mostly limited to the character reincarnation theme and having seen that isn’t necessary to follow along here.

A college student who studied time slips suddenly finds himself in an unfamiliar version of the Sengoku period. There he meets Nobunaga and agrees to serve under him, soon coming into contact with various other notable historical figures.

A slightly random daily life comedy featuring erotic/suggestive endcards in the style of the otome game it’s based on.

At the end of the 19th century the Kingdom of Albion has been split into two powers, the Empire and the Republic, separated by a giant wall. This is the story of five girls of different backgrounds who have come together to work as spies for the Republic through the prestigious Queen’s Mayfaire highschool.

An alternate history action-drama that uses ‘cute girls doing cute things’ as its source of comic relief. Note that the show has several time-gaps and is not aired chronologically; chronological order is 2-3, 5, 4, 9, 1, 7, 6, 8, 10-12.
