Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne

Normal highschool student by day Maron Kusakabe’s true identity is that of Kaitou Jeanne, the reincarnation of Jeanne d’Arc who spends her nights tracking down and stealing demon-possessed paintings with the help of her guardian angel Fin Fish. She’s not the only one after the paintings however, and in addition to police interference and hostile demons she also has to contended with rival thief Kaitou Sinbad.

A multi-genre magical girl phantom thief hybrid. Primarily focused on comedy and action, it periodically dips into drama and romance as well.

The sudden appearance of an 8th continent in the middle of the ocean triggered a new age of exploration. Explorers of all types ventured to the landmass in search of previously unknown lifeforms and resources… only to instead be faced with hardship and assorted disasters. A cottage industry of relief workers specializing in search & rescue has sprung up as a result, and despite his chronic laziness You Yin is one of the best.

A mostly episodic action-drama with intermittent comic relief and a slight adventure theme. Be aware that the 5th and 9th episodes are comedic parodies in a completely different style than the others.

Mayonaka no Occult Koumuin

Tokyo is home to many people of all different varieties, both human and not, and it’s the Night Community Exchange Department’s job to handle any problems which may arise from the various nonhuman entities inhabiting the area. Arata Miyako has just joined the department’s Shinjuku office, and despite having no previous experience quickly finds himself thrown into the deep-end of mediating supernatural relationships due to his unusual ability to understand their speech.

A partly episodic procedural series with daily life elements, an occasional dramatic subplot, frequent comic relief, and a few minor action elements. Note that the manga-bundled extra episode is considered the 13th, while the other two are considered the 14th-15th.

Dororo

Left for dead as a baby after having his body parts traded off to a consortium of demons by his father, Hyakkimaru is saved by a wandering physician who provides him with an elaborate system of prosthetics and trains him in the ways of the sword. 16 years later he sets off on a journey to kill the demons responsible for his state, picking up the young thief Dororo as a traveling companion along the way.

A graphic, partly episodic action-drama set sometime during Japan’s classical era. It’s a retelling of the 1969 series Dororo to Hyakkimaru.

A cheerful and outgoing member of her school’s literary club, Nanako Yukishiro fell in love at first sight with noted delinquent Eiji Busujima. Turns out Eiji isn’t anywhere near as harsh as his appearance suggests and the two of them quickly hit it off, sharing their observations and feelings through the use of senryuu.

A daily life romantic club comedy with an educational subtheme, minor love triangle elements, and large variety of comedy styles.

From them she learns it holds the power of a goddess, unlocked under specific circumstances, and that there are others out there who wish to claim its power for their own.
