Socially awkward and as a result involuntarily a bit of a loner, Hazuki Kagimura spends much of her time engrossed in books of all kinds. One day after suddenly discovering a strange book in her possession she stumbles across someone who appears to be a mage straight out of one of her stories. Consumed by curiosity, she ends up following the mysterious girl through a portal leading to a fantasy world where those known as ‘mädchen’ learn different sorts of magic sourced from a variety of fairy tales.

A schoolgirl comedy with secondary action elements. It features occasional bursts of ecchi and a streak of drama threaded throughout.

Bungou Stray Dogs: DEAD APPLE

With gifted individuals around the world falling prey to a mysterious serial suicide phenomenon, the Armed Detective Agency is tasked with investigating a man known as ‘The Collector’ who may somehow be related. A man whom Dazai just so happened to have encountered 6 years earlier at the tail end of the bloody Dragon Head Conflict.

An original story taking place sometime before the TV series‘ third season featuring a similar genre composition. Brief character descriptions and assorted background information is provided during the opening sequence, allowing it to be watched as a stand-alone.

Han-Gyaku-Sei Million Arthur

The legendary sword Excalibur grants anyone it deems worthy incredible power and bestows upon them the title of ‘Arthur’. However… its standards are quite low and soon the world was overrun with many different varieties of Arthur to the point that reality itself became distorted. So now it falls to a team of six different Arthurs to track down and destroy a million Excaliburs of the past in the hopes of restoring the present to its natural state.

A parody-heavy comedy with secondary action elements, a moderate level of ecchi, and occasional bits of drama. Each televised episode also includes an episode of Jakusansei Million Arthur following the credits.

Tokyo is home to many people of all different varieties, both human and not, and it’s the Night Community Exchange Department’s job to handle any problems which may arise from the various nonhuman entities inhabiting the area. Arata Miyako has just joined the department’s Shinjuku office, and despite having no previous experience quickly finds himself thrown into the deep-end of mediating supernatural relationships due to his unusual ability to understand their speech.

A partly episodic procedural series with daily life elements, an occasional dramatic subplot, frequent comic relief, and a few minor action elements. Note that the manga-bundled extra episode is considered the 13th, while the other two are considered the 14th-15th.

Connections. Desires. Everyone has one and some would do anything… or everything… to keep them secret. Kazuki Yasaka is one such person who, through the chance encounter with a kappa prince, will be forced to face his past actions as he and two other boys are enlisted by the prince to combat those whose desires have run amok.

A heavily symbolic random-style comedy with a large amount of ecchi and secondary dramatic elements. It also features a couple re-occurring musical numbers and a few bits of action.

Though all creatures must overcome the assortment of vices that hide within their hearts in order to grow, sometimes outside forces will take advantage of those vices to sow chaos and discord. It’s in these situations that the Thirteen Buddhas are dispatched to eliminate the vice before it can do too much damage. Such outbreaks are rare however, and so most of the time they instead acclimate themselves to the material realm through a variety of everyday activities.

A comedic daily life series with occasional bursts of action.
