Tormented at night by a strange ribbon-wielding ghost, Kotarou Tennouji seeks out the president of the school’s supernatural research club for aid. He ends up joining the club along with several other students… each with their own hidden abilities.

The show starts out as a comedy, quickly introduces action and drama, and then fluctuates between the three in an almost episodic manner. While the genre shifts throughout, the theme permanently changes from school-life to ‘secret societies at war’ a little past the halfway point.

After a sociopathic salaryman is pushed in front of an oncoming train, he finds himself being addressed by a being claiming to be God. Unwilling to believe the entity, and telling it such in great detail, he finds himself reincarnated as a young girl on a different world. A world at war where magic is real.

An action series set during a period of time greatly resembling the early 1900’s. Its two central conflicts are ’empire vs. the world’ and ‘protagonist vs. God’.

Hanabi is in love with Narumi, her neighbor and homeroom teacher she’s known since she was a child. Mugi is in love with Akane, his former tutor and the school’s current music teacher. Both loves are unrequited, and so the two of them become superficially involved with each other to dull the pain.

A complicated love polygon romance featuring unrequited feelings, emptiness, romantic compromise, and unconditional affection.

Strange suicides have begun occurring in Shibuya, deaths which bear a resemblance to the ones from the ‘New Generation of Madness’ incident from six years prior. For reasons of his own, the president of Hekiho Academy’s newspaper club has decided to investigate these incidents… ending up a target as result.

A horror thriller that eventually acquires the aspects of an ESP action series. While it’s a direct sequel to Chaos;Head, watching that is not required to watch this (though if you haven’t it would be a good idea to skip the ‘episode 0’ recap since it only works as a refresher).

Sousei no Onmyouji

Rokuro Enmadou and Benio Adashino are both exceptionally powerful exorcists with tragic pasts. Though Rokuro responded to the tragedy by swearing off exorcism, in Benio’s case it only motivated her to become more powerful. Now the two of them have been proclaimed the ‘Twin Star Exorcists’ and must work together to cleanse the world of evil spirits.

A battle shounen slightly darker than usual with a fairly even mix of comedy, drama, and action. The romance aspect, despite being introduced early, does not become a central focus until the 10th episode while the comedy eventually ends up taking a backseat to the action/drama.

Accidentally awakening a mysterious girl called Koyori, Tazuna Takatsuki finds himself suddenly thrust into the middle of a battle between super-powered couples called ‘hand shakers’. While most of these pairs fight for the opportunity to meet God and have their wish granted, Tazuna fights to keep Koyori from disappearing.

A battle royale action drama with an unconventional style of animation and noticeable ecchi streak.

The Boy Detectives Club led by Kogorou Akechi accepts and solves jobs of all sorts, ranging from lost pets, to missing people, to rampaging robots. On one such job they meet a strange boy surrounded by what appears to be an invincible force field, who may be related to the connection between Akechi and master criminal The Fiend with Twenty Faces.

An action drama with a bit of comedy inspired by two novels from the late 1930’s. It features both episodic stories and an over-arching character-driven plotline.

Having just moved to Tokyo to live with his sisters, Yuu Haruna becomes tangled up in a relationship with an outgoing girl who accidentally runs into him one day. A relationship that only becomes more complicated when his childhood friend, now a popular idol, suddenly contacts him.

Part ‘making the band’ and part love triangle romance with a few touches of ecchi and comic relief scattered throughout.

Yotaru’s story continues as he encounters and overcomes various obstacles on the path to finding his own brand of rakugo, including his past as a yakuza.

Picking up from where the last season left off, the underlying style and structure here remains the same even though the cast has aged/changed.
