AKIBA’STRIP: THE ANIMATION

Killed while saving a mysterious red-haired girl from mysterious assailants, Tamotsu Denkigai is resurrected as a high-class ‘bugged one’; a being possessing superhuman abilities whose only weakness is having their clothes removed. No longer able to leave Akihabara, he must now fight against an opposing group of bugged ones that wish to take over the town.

An ecchi action comedy that focuses on different subcultures in each episode: Military otaku, audiophiles, eSports, and so forth. The one constant are the action scenes which always result in various amounts of torn, dissolved, or removed clothing.

Sousei no Onmyouji

Rokuro Enmadou and Benio Adashino are both exceptionally powerful exorcists with tragic pasts. Though Rokuro responded to the tragedy by swearing off exorcism, in Benio’s case it only motivated her to become more powerful. Now the two of them have been proclaimed the ‘Twin Star Exorcists’ and must work together to cleanse the world of evil spirits.

A battle shounen slightly darker than usual with a fairly even mix of comedy, drama, and action. The romance aspect, despite being introduced early, does not become a central focus until the 10th episode while the comedy eventually ends up taking a backseat to the action/drama.

To bring order to the chaotic streets of Kyoto, a group of skilled young warriors were brought together to form a special police force: The Shinsengumi. This is a chronicle of their everyday trials and tribulations.

A short gag comedy that exaggerates and plays off the personality differences between the various members of the Shinsengumi.

Accidentally awakening a mysterious girl called Koyori, Tazuna Takatsuki finds himself suddenly thrust into the middle of a battle between super-powered couples called ‘hand shakers’. While most of these pairs fight for the opportunity to meet God and have their wish granted, Tazuna fights to keep Koyori from disappearing.

A battle royale action drama with an unconventional style of animation and noticeable ecchi streak.

Kemono Friends

A young girl finds herself alone in the middle of Japari Park, a theme park filled with animal girls, with no memories of her past. Setting out together with a serval catgirl she embarks on a journey to learn who she is, meeting many different friends along the way.

An educational trip through an abandoned wildlife preserve inspired by a smartphone game. While it has bits of comedy and finishes with a burst of action, the primary focus is on exploring the different areas while learning about new animal girls and helping them with their problems.

A reaction and situational-based comedy that mostly plays off the contrast of having angels and devils behave the opposite of how you would expect them to.

A daily life comedy featuring chibi-catgirls standing in for regular cats. It’s mostly focused on the catgirls being cute, with a secondary focus on Yuuko and Azumi’s relationship.

On her first day of highschool in a new town, Hiromi decides to take her bike to school despite not having ridden in many years… only to discover that she’s forgotten how. Luckily she runs into a girl from the same school on the way willing to help her relearn, and the two quickly become friends.

A mostly relaxing series designed to get people interesting in cycling, with just a touch of competitive sports spirit. Each episode also features a live action segment at the end showcasing various types of biking gear and concepts.

As a biology teacher, Tetsuo Takahashi has long wanted to interview demi-humans. Yet due to their rarity he never got the opportunity, until the start of this school year when the new math teacher turns out to be a succubus and a vampire, dullahan, and yuki-onna are included in the wave of new students.

While primarily a school-life comedy, the show also deals with more serious issues (such as ostracism for being different) and occasionally gets philosophical.
