While Shadow Warrior 2 may at first glance look like an FPS, in reality it’s an action RPG with quite a few character progression options. Unfortunately (and similar to Cosmic Star Heroine) it also has an overwhelmingly unconventional sense of humor made worse by some notably lackluster voice acting. The actual gameplay though is pretty good once you accept that you’re expected to get hit and take damage (there’s no dodge/block ability apart from a specific Katana move).
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified on the other hand is a more conventional FPS, albeit a squad-based one with cover shooter gameplay similar to Mass Effect 2. Squad tactics are very important here if you’re playing on the higher difficulties; a style of play facilitated by a ‘bullet time’-like mechanic that lets you give orders in relative peace. There are some notable negatives however: Saving is restricted to checkpoint autosaves, the character interactions are pretty terrible, and the PhysX graphic options are broken by default (while they can be fixed easily enough, doing so results in extreme slowdown at certain points).
In the hopes of turning their declining fortunes around the Kuze family has decided to marry off their eldest daughter Tsugumi. While not happy with the arrangement herself, her younger brother takes the news far worse; he immolates himself after falling under the sway of an emotionally-charged book. An incident which awakens in Tsugumi the ability to see the aura these ‘maremono’ emanate and leads her to join the agency in charge of managing them.
A drama with secondary slice of life and romance elements, a few action scenes, and significant literary and political themes.

In a time when ninja are becoming obsolete the remains of the Kouga and Iga clans place their hopes for the future on two youths thought to be the offspring of the clans’ previous heirs. However Hibiki Iga and Hachirou Kouga already have a destiny of their own, and much blood will be spilled before it can be fulfilled.
An action drama set in the late Sengoku period. It takes place 10 years after Kouga Ninpou Chou and can be watched without having seen that.

Transported, along with his allies and all of Arkham Asylum’s inmates, to what appears to be feudal Japan by one of Gorilla Grodd’s contraptions, Batman must find a way to both untangle the mess history has become and return to the modern day.
An action movie with both martial arts and mecha action along with a bit of comic relief in the form of the Joker and Harley’s personality. Be aware that it requires some basic knowledge of the Batman franchise to understand the character dynamics and that the English script differs significantly from the original Japanese version.

Without warning, Yuzuki suddenly finds herself transported to a fantasy-world version of the Sengoku period in which the various warlords happen to be vampires and werebeasts. There she finds out that the Himemiko, a guardian figure who kept the peace between the various armies, has disappeared and that her blood happens to have the exact same properties as the Himimiko’s.
A mostly lighthearted romance series that features a moderate amount of action.
