Ren’ai Boukun: The very lovely tyrant of love ♥

Following a series of unfortunate events, Seiji Aino finds himself caught up in a love polygon between a fujoshi angel, a jealous yandere classmate, and her incestuous half-sister. Worse, he now has to work as a matchmaker for other couples or his soul will be sent to hell. So begins his new daily life as a cupid’s helper.

A romantic slapstick comedy with some dramatic subplots regarding the girls’ backgrounds. While it does contain heavy ecchi scenes, they’re very rare and tend to be brief.

ONE PUNCH MAN

Training so hard that he went prematurely bald, the part-time hero Saitama has become the strongest man alive. So strong that most enemies are utterly annihilated by a single punch… so strong that he barely feels much of anything anymore. One day he meets a young cyborg who desperately wants to become his disciple after witnessing that power, and his condition for this is for the two of them join the Hero Association together.

An action-heavy and somewhat gory battle shounen parody. Though initially comedy-centric and focused on Saitama, it eventually adopts more of an ensemble structure while introducing hints of drama.

Ajin OVAs

Short stories taking place both before and during the main Ajin series.

The first is a prequel focused on drama featuring Shinya, a university student who discovers that he’s an Ajin following a fatal motorcycle accident. The second is a collection of comedic ‘behind-the-scenes’ character-based segments, each of which takes place at a different part of the parent series. The third is an action-centric prequel centering on the event that triggered Satou’s transformation from soldier to terrorist.

Ajin: Immortal beings able to manifest powerful avatars made of dark particles. Hunted by the government for research purposes and vilified as inhuman monsters, a group of Ajin come together to form a terrorist organization with visions of forcing reform. Meanwhile, an otherwise normal student recently revealed to be an Ajin finds himself on the run from both groups.

The first half of the show is an action drama focused on Kei Nagai’s capture and eventual flight from government agents, with Satou’s terrorist actions providing the backdrop. The second half however transitions into something closer to an agency thriller, with the conflict between special forces and the terrorists taking center stage.

After saving the life of a dragon she stumbled upon one night while drunk, Kobayashi wakes up the next day to find that same dragon on her doorstep in the guise of a young girl… and dressed as a maid.

A daily life comedy with some relatively minor ecchi aspects and an undercurrent of relationship drama. The episodes tend to be broken up into multiple segments separated by small time skips.

Saiki Kusuo no Sainan

Brief glimpses into the disastrous life of Kusuo Saiki, a powerful psychic who hides his abilities from the public and tries not to stand out.

A random-style gag comedy broken up into 4-minute long segments. While there isn’t much in the way of plotlines, there is consistency between the episodes and the protagonist’s deadpan delivery stays constant throughout. The web episode from 2013 is included in this version.

Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujouou Hen

A thief has stolen the Left Eye of the Impure King, a piece of a powerful demon that had been safely sealed away. Yukio and Shura are sent to investigate while Rin accompanies them due to not being able to leave Shura’s supervision.

A continuation of the 2011 Ao no Exorcist series that acts as though the Anime original content of episodes 18-25 never happened. Unlike there, here the protagonist is treated with suspicion and fear because of his powers. Note that the series’ 13th and 14th episodes are mostly self-contained stories and were released separately in OVA format.

Kenji and Sumiaki, first years at Kanagawa Prefectural High School, each have complexes about their height. Kenji is short with a short fuse, while Sumiaki is tall and timid. Both of them join the school’s rugby team and begin to develop a friendship.

A sports shounen focusing on rugby. The comedy mostly comes from exaggerated or mismatched character personalities.

After a sociopathic salaryman is pushed in front of an oncoming train, he finds himself being addressed by a being claiming to be God. Unwilling to believe the entity, and telling it such in great detail, he finds himself reincarnated as a young girl on a different world. A world at war where magic is real.

An action series set during a period of time greatly resembling the early 1900’s. Its two central conflicts are ’empire vs. the world’ and ‘protagonist vs. God’.
