  • Hina Logi: from Luck & Logic

Posted on September 21, 2017 1:39 pm by Offkorn Comment

A princess from a small country, Lion has transferred into Pirari Academy in order to learn about being a Logicalist. There she meets many other girls from different backgrounds, all with their own reasons for becoming Logaicalists.

Though a sequel to Luck & Logic, this features a different setting, a new cast, and drops nearly all of the action/drama elements. It has a minor ecchi/yuri streak and apart from one or two episodes it’s almost entirely a standard schoolgirl daily life show.

  • Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun

Posted on September 21, 2017 6:02 am by Offkorn Comment

Though a gifted soccer player, due to his extreme germophobia Aoyama has developed an eccentric style of play where he avoids contact with both the ball and other players as much as possible. A quirk that puts him at odds with the hot-headed Kaoru Zaizen, who believes Aoyama doesn’t take the game seriously enough.

A gag comedy with a strong soccer focus and somewhat limited joke variety.

  • Battle Girl High School: Battle Girl Project

Posted on September 20, 2017 12:17 pm by Offkorn Comment

At first glance the girls of Shinjugamine high school seem to be just normal everyday students, but they are in fact elite fighters trained to combat incursions by mysterious creatures called Irous. However, after having won two major battles in the past they’ve since grown complacent and sloppy… so much so that they must now undergo complete retraining.

A schoolgirl show based on a game featuring a mix of action, comedy, idols, daily life events, and minor ecchi content. While the story takes place after certain events in the game, it does not seem to be necessary to play that in order to watch this.

  • Sagrada Reset

Posted on September 17, 2017 10:02 am by Offkorn Comment

The town of Sakurada is home to a monitored population, many of whom possess special abilities of some form. Kei Asai’s is the ability to remember everything perfectly, which puts him in an ideal position to work with Misora Haruki. Her’s can periodically ‘reset’ the world to a state up to 3 days prior; everything returns to how it was at that earlier point and normally everyone, including herself, loses any memory of what occurred during the reset period. Being unaffected by the memory loss, Kei becomes the only one able to direct that power.

It starts out as a laid-back detective-like series with a secondary focus on a complicated love triangle. Then in the second half things become more adversarial, though the romance elements remain the same. Overall it’s mainly dialog-driven while also containing a few deadpan comedy and action elements.

Jun’ichi Hashiba is in his second year of high school and has never had a girlfriend. Neither has any of his three friends, and one day after school they decide that he should ask out the flashy Yukana Yame. To his surprise… she accepts.

A heavy-ecchi romantic comedy, focused mainly on erotic fantasizing and the perverted behavior of the secondary male characters.

Masaharu Tsuwabuki has difficulty talking to people he doesn’t know, and as a result comes off as anti-social and uncaring. Despite this his life can still be called an ordinary one… until the day he accidentally drinks a potion that turns him into a stuffed animal. Now he must help Sumomo Akihime, a classmate who has been chosen to become a magical girl, collect stardrops in order to fully reverse the transformation.

A slightly unconventional romance featuring a large amount of comedy alongside secondary dramatic aspects which come to dominate the last few episodes. While it does have ecchi scenes, they’re almost entirely contained in the 5th episode.

Ahiru pines for Mytho, yet both may as well be worlds apart based on their personalities and abilities. No one is more aware of this than Ahiru herself and she wishes she could do something, anything, for him. A wish that ends up granted late one night by a mysterious man.

A ballet-centric story about a story about a duck who becomes a magical girl. It’s very heavy on comedy and absurdity, to the point that the dramatic and romantic aspects are almost completely overshadowed.

Having defeated the massive alien construct that mysteriously appeared in their town, the magic club must now deal with the giant sakura tree that has been left in its place.

This continues directly from where the OVA series left off and so it would be a good idea to watch that first. That said it’s very different from the prequel, aside from the comedy style, and takes a much slower slice of life approach.

In their third year of middle school Kotarou Azumi and Akane Mizuno end up in the same group during the sports festival, an arrangement that leads to the two becoming closer together. However this soon leads to complications, as Takumi Hira has long been attracted to Akane while Akane’s friend Chinatsu begins to develop an interest in Kotarou.

A school life love-polygon that’s presented in an almost entirely realistic style and develops at a measured pace. It’s a combination of lighthearted romance, small eddies of drama/angst, and comedic post-credits scenes.

Expected to fight his way to the top of his high school as part of a family tradition, Hikaru Onigashima has different ideas and decides to instead trade places with his twin sister. Now Hinako Nakayama must attend an all-boys school while fending off the constant challenges the name “Hikaru Onigashima” evokes.

The series is unconventional in two ways. The first is that it’s structured like a documentary of past events and has the characters re-telling the story from a future point in time, while the second is that parts of each episode are mixed into the OP sequence. Content-wise it balances brief action scenes, misunderstanding-based comedy, and harem-building.
