The second through fourth Majo to Youhei novels expand the protagonists’ circle of acquaintances while keeping the same general atmosphere. The series does however look to be building toward some kind of large-scale confrontation with the expanding number of potentially conflicting factions involved.
Isekai Goumon-hime starts out unnervingly similar to Nidome no Yuusha wa Fukushuu no Michi o Warai Ayumu, especially considering they were originally released within a month of each other. It makes me fear this will fall apart later in a similar way… but maybe it can instead succeed where that failed. Hopefully it does because darker stories like this one aren’t particularly common.
