{"id":10113,"date":"2023-01-01T11:01:07","date_gmt":"2023-01-01T11:01:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.offkorn.com\/blog\/?p=10113"},"modified":"2023-01-01T17:02:34","modified_gmt":"2023-01-01T17:02:34","slug":"accomplishments-of-the-dukes-daughter-1-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.offkorn.com\/blog\/accomplishments-of-the-dukes-daughter-1-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Accomplishments of the Duke&#8217;s Daughter #1-5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Similar to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offkorn.com\/blog\/the-alchemist-who-survived-1-5\/\" title=\"The Alchemist Who Survived #1-5\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ikinokori Renkinjutsushi wa Machi<\/a>, the fifth <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B093PYBS4S\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Koushaku Reijou no Tashinami<\/a> book marks the main storyline&#8217;s conclusion; later novels tell a prequel story focused on the protagonist&#8217;s mother.<\/p>\n<p>The series begins with what I now have to assume is a common <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Otome_game\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">otome game<\/a> setup: A prince&#8217;s fianc\u00e9e is brought before him to answer for crimes against his girlfriend. This is the fourth time I&#8217;ve seen it now (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Trapped_in_a_Dating_Sim:_The_World_of_Otome_Games_Is_Tough_for_Mobs\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mobseka<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offkorn.com\/blog\/deaths-daughter-and-the-ebony-blade-the-magical-revolution-of-the-reincarnated-princess-and-the-genius-young-lady-1-2\/\" title=\"Death\u2019s Daughter and the Ebony Blade &#038; The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady #1-2\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tensei Oujo to Tensai Reijou<\/a>, &#038; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offkorn.com\/blog\/prison-life-is-easy-for-a-villainess-grimgar-3\/\" title=\"PRISON LIFE is EASY for a Villainess &#038; Grimgar #3\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kangoku Slow Life<\/a> being the previous three) and so far each implementation has been slightly different.<\/p>\n<p>From there it quickly transitions into an &#8216;introduce modern concepts to a fantasy world&#8217; type of series before eventually dipping into conventional romantic developments.<\/p>\n<p>Personally I&#8217;d have to say that the first three books are the best, with the fourth and fifth suffering from being a bit too laden with preachy monologues and overly convenient event developments. While it&#8217;s true the protagonist always had an abnormally easy time implementing her policies locally, the way she ends up effectively bulldozing through on a national level as well (without even trying to) heavily strains credulity.<\/p>\n<p>Still, it&#8217;s a pretty fun series all in all.
