{"id":10210,"date":"2023-02-04T15:33:14","date_gmt":"2023-02-04T15:33:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.offkorn.com\/blog\/?p=10210"},"modified":"2023-02-13T16:35:19","modified_gmt":"2023-02-13T16:35:19","slug":"fushi-no-kami-7-the-apothecary-diaries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.offkorn.com\/blog\/fushi-no-kami-7-the-apothecary-diaries\/","title":{"rendered":"Fushi no Kami #7 &#038; The Apothecary Diaries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To my great surprise, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Fushi-Kami-Rebuilding-Civilization-Village-ebook\/dp\/B0BKH7WD45\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the seventh Fushi no Kami novel<\/a> turned out to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offkorn.com\/blog\/fushi-no-kami-rebuilding-civilization-starts-with-a-village-1-6\/\" title=\"Fushi no Kami: Rebuilding Civilization Starts with a Village #1-6\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the series&#8217;<\/a> conclusion.<\/p>\n<p>This was surprising mainly because half is devoted to talking in circles, a quarter is devoted to creating a hamfisted solution to the love triangle issue, and then the actual conclusion is handled by two abrupt 2-year time skips. Like&#8230; <em>nothing<\/em> gets resolved. The only potential silver-lining (if it can even be called that) is that I definitely would&#8217;ve dropped it here. Meaning I now don&#8217;t have to worry about missing anything or it potentially getting better.<\/p>\n<p><em>Kusuriya no Hitorigoto<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B0953NMHMW\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">starts out with<\/a> what could be seen as a self-contained novel. It&#8217;s got an established beginning, end, and plenty of development in-between. Sure it sometimes comes across more like a collection of short stories, but that&#8217;s not necessarily a negative. Honestly, it&#8217;s everything I had hoped the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Raven_of_the_Inner_Palace\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Koukyuu no Karasu<\/a> Anime would&#8217;ve been like.<\/p>\n<p>That said&#8230; I&#8217;m conflicted on whether or not to continue. I enjoyed it, yet honestly can&#8217;t see it ending up anywhere good if the additional volume summaries are to be believed.
