There are several problems with the first Akutoku Kizoku no Seizon Senryaku novel<\/a>, which I suppose you could say is somewhat similar to MobSeka<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Chief among them is the erratic protagonist; his personality flits around between cold-blooded schemer, hot-blooded shounen battler, clueless harem lead, and manic workaholic (his actions after becoming Jack not lining up with what’s shown of his history certainly doesn’t help). The end result being a product that feels more like a loosely connected web of scattered ‘great ideas’ than a proper story.<\/p>\n

The second GM ga Isekai ni Login Shimashita installment<\/a> just so happens to share that particular protagonist issue.<\/p>\n

While the prequel<\/a> was already going in some questionable directions, this one simply has no direction at all: Cringy relationship developments, cringy fanservice, combat scenes incorporating game elements from multiple (sometimes conflicting) genres, a new kingdom-building and ‘introduce modern concepts to a fantasy world’ focus, an expanded food focus, and no idea whether it wants to be a breezy overpowered protagonist series or a cliffhanging nailbiter.<\/p>\n

Reading the Afterword, where the author proclaims the lead (who is literally invincible, has effectively infinite crafting materials, and can cast any spell or use any ability he wants) is “playing on hard mode”, it seems clear that there’s no hope of it ever getting any better.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
