The third<\/a> of John Van Stry<\/a>‘s Wolfhounds<\/em> novels is much like the first two<\/a>. There isn’t much ship or mech-based action this time, with the focus instead being on setting all the various plans in motion for the endgame. There are a couple knife fights however and a few rather serious plot developments.<\/p>\n

Sarah A. Parker<\/a>‘s Crystal Bloom<\/a> series is one I’ve been trying on and off to read since way back after finishing When the Moon Hatched<\/a>. It’s rough though, focused as it is on an incredibly toxic relationship between two deeply traumatized people… both with a martyr complex. Ultimately I had to give up about halfway through To Snap a Silver Stem<\/em> when it became clear the change of setting did not herald much of a change in character dynamic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
