While there are a few remaining loose ends (which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Sam-Winton\/e\/B0DH8FJQNH\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the author<\/a> freely admits in the Afterword), it ends in a pretty good spot; right as the protagonist becomes a newly established power. So an overall solidly entertaining series.<\/p>\n<p>I couldn&#8217;t get into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Sean-Oswald\/e\/B082P3914C\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sean Oswald<\/a>&#8216;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B0F2NGH57Z\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">first Magic Eater novel<\/a>. While it has a setup not too dissimilar from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offkorn.com\/blog\/guardian-of-aster-fall-1-8\/\" title=\"GUARDIAN of ASTER FALL #1-8\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Guardian of Aster Fall<\/a>&#8216;s the protagonist here is much worse, oscillating seemingly at random between risk-adverse coward and impulsive idiot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unexpectedly, the fourth Rift Magus Reborn novel turned out to be the series conclusion.
