Unexpectedly, the fourth<\/a> Rift Magus Reborn<\/a> novel turned out to be the series conclusion. While there are a few remaining loose ends (which the author<\/a> freely admits in the Afterword), it ends in a pretty good spot; right as the protagonist becomes a newly established power. So an overall solidly entertaining series.<\/p>\n

I couldn’t get into Sean Oswald<\/a>‘s first Magic Eater novel<\/a>. While it has a setup not too dissimilar from Guardian of Aster Fall<\/a>‘s the protagonist here is much worse, oscillating seemingly at random between risk-adverse coward and impulsive idiot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
