The protagonist&#8217;s apparent lack of intelligence does not work at all well with the mannerisms she developed from being &#8216;comically&#8217; poor. It&#8217;s a very unfortunate combination.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B0FRSXQ1NG\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The New Gate<\/a> (English subtitle: <em>Where It End, It Begins<\/em>) doesn&#8217;t end up much better, starting off not too dissimilar to what would&#8217;ve happened if Kirito from <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sword_Art_Online\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SAO<\/a> were transported to the world of  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offkorn.com\/blog\/that-time-i-got-reincarnated-as-a-slime-13-in-the-land-of-leadale-4-5\/\" title=\"That Time I Got Reincarnated as a SLIME #13 &#038; In the Land of Leadale #4-5\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Leadale<\/a> after clearing the death game. The main issue here is that I can&#8217;t tell if the protagonist is a genuine idiot, or if he&#8217;s being written as an idiot solely to provide exposition to the reader&#8230; and I don&#8217;t care enough to keep reading long enough to find out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ended up having to drop the first Hakyoku Yotei no Akujo no Hazu ga, Reitetsu Koushaku-sama ga Wakarete Kuremasen! novel fairly quickly.
