Parker<\/a>&#8216;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B0DBJ7WPT8\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">second<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offkorn.com\/blog\/when-the-moon-hatched-in-darkness-forged\/\" title=\"When the Moon Hatched &#038; in Darkness Forged\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Moonfall<\/a> novel has suffered from a number of release delays that, after seeing the rather unfortunate additions to the book&#8217;s title, appear to have been publisher-related. While this still hits the same notes as the prequel, it feels like it&#8217;s going in circles narratively and I ended up dropping it halfway through when the stupid blood-bond subplot reappears out of nowhere.<\/p>\n<p>A novel that briefly appeared on my recommendation list, yet stuck around in the back of my thoughts until recently when I finally gave in and picked it up, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/J-L-Williams\/e\/B097T3T31B\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">J.L. Williams<\/a>&#8216; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Quarks-Qi-J-L-Williams-ebook\/dp\/B0GG69X863\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Quarks and Qi<\/a> turned out shockingly entertaining. It has a similar concept as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offkorn.com\/blog\/planetfall-elven-blood\/\" title=\"PLANETFALL &#038; ELVEN BLOOD\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Manaforged Robotics<\/a>&#8216; except (perhaps because the technology here is like magic) with the two genres far better integrated. I didn&#8217;t even mind that the fantasy world is cultivation-focused.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sarah A.
