I picked up Awakening<\/a> due to greatly enjoying the author<\/a>‘s Ruinous Return<\/a> series only to end up swiftly disappointed: The protagonist is insufferably dumb.<\/p>\n

The first Netherwitch novel<\/a> covers the opening two arcs of the web novel version<\/a> and is not particularly representative of the rest of the series, since the academy setting does not return and the ‘forced’ part of the feminization aspect is softened into something of a re-occurring joke (the transition itself is explored in greater depth later). Overall the general atmosphere brings to mind Kenja no Deshi o Nanoru Kenja<\/a>, if that series happened to have a central lesbian romance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
