{"id":5023,"date":"2018-06-09T04:44:45","date_gmt":"2018-06-09T04:44:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.offkorn.com\/blog\/?p=5023"},"modified":"2020-08-20T05:38:31","modified_gmt":"2020-08-20T05:38:31","slug":"legend-of-grimrock-ii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.offkorn.com\/blog\/legend-of-grimrock-ii\/","title":{"rendered":"LEGEND OF GRIMROCK II"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Unlike the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gog.com\/game\/legend_of_grimrock\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">first game<\/a> (which got kind of annoying with everything being underground), I actually managed to complete <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gog.com\/game\/legend_of_grimrock_2\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">this one<\/a> at character level 14.<\/p>\n<p>While I&#8217;m not a big fan of puzzles, most of the ones here are thankfully logic-based and can be solved with enough trial &#038; error. There are only a couple that require the use of specific items or codes based off obscure messages (and for those I suggest consulting <a href=\"https:\/\/gamefaqs.gamespot.com\/pc\/848323-legend-of-grimrock-ii\/faqs\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">a walkthrough<\/a>). The biggest puzzle is really what sort of party composition to make and to determine that I <em>strongly<\/em> suggest reading through <a href=\"https:\/\/steamcommunity.com\/sharedfiles\/filedetails\/?id=330809837\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">this character creation guide<\/a>. Classes play much differently than you would think and you absolutely must have someone with a maxed out Alchemy skill.<\/p>\n<p>As for combat, some of the encounters can be a bit tricky but none of the enemies ever come across as unfair or require obscure and\/or unintuitive tactics. Really the worst I can say about the combat aspects are that when\/where you acquire injuries seems to be completely random. Another complaint would be the hunger system, as I unilaterally hate all hunger\/thirst systems, but that&#8217;s easy enough to disable using a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nexusmods.com\/legendofgrimrock2\/mods\/74\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Save Game Editor<\/a> (simply set the &#8220;food_rate&#8221; CHAR STAT to 0).<\/p>\n<p>So all in all it ends up an enjoyable experience with only a handful of occasional annoyances.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unlike the first game (which got kind of annoying with everything being underground), I actually managed to complete this one at character level 14.
