Then about a third of the way through it starts to introduce serious sports elements, turning into a full-blown sports series in the concluding third&#8230; resulting in a particularly uneven showing despite the comedy style remaining intact throughout. While I have to give it credit for not artificially dragging things out as those series tend to do (usually with innumerable training episodes), the sport it decided to focus on (<a href=\"https:\/\/ja.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/\u30d3\u30fc\u30e0\u30e9\u30a4\u30d5\u30eb\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">beam rifle<\/a> target shooting, a variation on <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/ISSF_10_meter_air_rifle\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">air rifle shooting<\/a>) being actively sedentary does not work in its favor.<\/p>\n<p><em>OreGairu<\/em>&#8216;s <a href=\"https:\/\/myanimelist.net\/anime\/39547\/Yahari_Ore_no_Seishun_Love_Comedy_wa_Machigatteiru_Kan\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">final season<\/a> picks up immediately from where the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/My_Teen_Romantic_Comedy_SNAFU_(season_2)\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">previous one<\/a> left off. So it would be a good idea to (re)watch the 13th episode of that before starting this. The character interactions are the highlight as always, but there&#8217;s a bit of an awkwardness overlord issue and the primary source of drama comes across as a hamfisted plot device. It is, however, nowhere near as bad as what <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offkorn.com\/blog\/sundry-anime-movies\/\" title=\"Sundry Anime Movies\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">the Saekano movie<\/a> pulled; only ending up a minor speed bump in an otherwise enjoyable series conclusion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rifle is Beautiful starts out as a pretty standard schoolgirl club comedy.
