Web Novels, Vol. 19

HEART DEVIL: Love Conquers All! – The writing style’s a bit looser than I’d prefer but I like the protagonist and the event developments are incredibly entertaining for the most part (it gets overly battle shounen-like at points), even if the transition between the rewritten chapters and originals is rather glaring. Also, I’d strongly suggest skipping the side stories.

How I was Accidentally Summoned in a Cult as the Demon Princess – Reminds me of Ruinous Return. I dislike the rather heavy connection the fantasy world has with Earth, but the rest works well.

CRITICAL ROLEPLAY: I MIN-MAXED FOR ENDGAME, NOT FLAVOR – Remarkably resembles a more serious Leadale. Unfortunately, while the setting is interesting I ended up dropping it shortly after they reached the first town; I don’t like child characters in general and the protagonist’s mindset wasn’t working for me. Why is she hiding her identity if she wants information? People would tell her everything she’d ever want to know by openly moving around as herself.

Teresa Of All Trades – The ‘all trades’ part of the title doesn’t really come into play until around the twentieth chapter, as the protagonist mostly focuses on healing up to that point as part of a party. Anyways, overall I’d say that while the series has a bit of a (lack of) believability issue it nicely scratches that Solo Leveling-like itch for overpowered protagonist progression for a time. Don’t have any interest in following it past the end of the first book though after the dog thing.

Extra’s MANTLE – Developed a strong aversion to the protagonist in the second chapter. Maybe he mellows out later, but his initial reaction to the transmigration is offputting on a number of levels.

MECHANICAL INSTINCT – There are a great many problems with the protagonist’s inner monologue and I have no desire to see if it ever becomes consistently coherent.
